So I finally nailed down our travel plans:
-Joe will work Monday and Tuesday mornings
-We will head out at 10:30am on Tuesday
-I get the day driving shift so he can sleep, with stops planned in Park city for lunch, Green River for dinner (any suggestions?) and playground time, and then I will try to drive to Doniphan, NE before handing over the baton.
-Since Joe usually drives all night/morning for his job, so he will take the midnight to morning shift to bring us into Nauvoo early Wednesday morning.
-Our plan is to check into a cabin (for $18 total) at Camp Nauvoo when we arrive. Joe can crash and sleep until he feels human, and I will shower myself and girls and get our breakfast on.
If anyone will be in Nauvoo early Wednesday morning, we would be happy to meet up and play!
We found a full-size rental car for $135 total for a week (thanks Derek! for the heads up) with Advantage. I am grateful we will not have to drive our car over the 100,000 mileage point on the trip. I want to get a few things worked on that are covered by the warranty...and now I will have time.
